Goal
Make a website and corporate identity.
Magellan Exams is the official representative of the Cambridge Center.

The customer is approached by language schools to organize IELTS and TOEFL exams.

The previous version of the site is very outdated in terms of design. Another task that our developers faced was to automate the process of ordering exams for language schools.

We developed a new logo and corporate identity, and then based on them we prepared a design concept.

The first stage was the development of the Magellan Exams logo and corporate identity. Later, branding set the style of animations on the site.

The second stage is the development of a design concept.

We have worked out the client’s image and user scenarios from the visit to the site to the conclusion of the transaction and receipt of the certificate. UX research has greatly shortened the user’s path.

Instead of making a monotonous catalog of available exams, we implemented a convenient search.

The user can easily find the desired exam by simply clicking on the search bar.

Later, at the stage of developing the design of specific pages, we made a lot of adjustments and adjusted to the requirements on the fly. The final appearance of the site is significantly different from the design concept — this is how our designers once again showed their flexibility.

The main feature of the design is dynamic illustrations.

It took us a long time to select a style of illustrations that would respond to all interested parties and correspond to the tone of voice of the company. When the images were ready, we worked with the images in After Effects, the result is that character illustrations and animations live in dynamics together with the site.

The penguin does not exist by itself: its behavior changes when hovering, animations interact with the user. The character looks and behaves differently depending on which page of the site we are on.

Animations can be easily changed in the 1C-Bitrix administration panel. The illustrations were later used in the design of creatives for advertisements.

Not only managers, but also designers participated in the calls with the client.

Such a scheme of work allowed us to work out user scenarios even at the design stage.

We have posted on the website a convenient and colorfully designed exam schedule — the main product of Magellan Exams.

We set up a personal account and conducted a two-way custom integration with 1C.

The Bitrix engine turned out to be enough to integrate with minimal modifications.

Personal account options:
  • Create a mass order for several students at once.
  • Import an order as an Excel file (convenient for partners who order immediately for a large group of students).
  • Pay online with a credit card.
  • Generate an invoice for payment for legal entities and individuals.
  • See the time of future exams, and after passing them, get acquainted with the results and download certificates. Available to every student.

We have designed and compiled email notification templates.
Result:
  • Magellan Exams customers can easily make a purchase on the website.
  • Information about the order will leave the site in 1C, and vice versa.
  • At all stages of the transaction, customers will receive bright email notifications from the site.
